Established in 1995 the Davis family have grown their Artisan Bakery from modest beginnings in the family garage, as the business grew they moved to larger premises in Strawberry Hill outside Newent in 2000, and then again to their current location in Longhope in 2021.

Using traditional methods the bread dough is left to ferment without the use of improvers, with these time-honored methods tastes and textures develop, giving the bread a character unlike that found in the mass produced bread market. 

The family are proud to be accredited by The Soil Association and have been a fully organic bakery since they started.

The lack of additives & preservatives in these products mean the shelf life isn’t the same as mass-produced bread and cakes.

Eat or freeze within a few of days of purchase to enjoy the products at their best. There is a 5-7 day best before date depending on product.

Wholemeal

Made by traditional long fermentation processes with no improvers, preservatives, or palm oil. A soft texture and dense, nutty taste. 

White

A traditional white loaf, made using the long  fermentation process. A soft texture with a golden crust. 

Mixed Seed

Soil Association Award winner. A brown mix with pumpkin, poppy, sunflower and linseeds throughout the loaf.

White Bloomer

This tin-baked wheat loaf is made with the finest organic white flour and it benefits from a long and traditional fermentation process for superior flavour. 

Soda Bread

Traditional Irish bread - Yeast and Dairy Free.

Olive Bread

Soil Association award winner. Baked in extra virgin olive oil and allowed to slowly ferment, this makes a delicious, savoury artisanal loaf.

Brioche Buns x 4

A traditional French yeast bread made with butter and eggs. Light and fluffy inside with a paper thin crust. Best eaten lightly toasted or grilled. 

White Rolls x 4

Soft, white bread rolls, perfect for a barbeque! 

White Finger Rolls x 6

As above but a finger shape for the perfect hot dog

Wholemeal Rolls x 4

Traditional wholemeal rolls, with a soft, nutty texture. 

Mature Cheddar & Vegetable

Cheese, onion and vegetable pasty with fragrant herbs and shortcrust pastry. Winner of Bronze Taste of the West award.

Spicy Bean

Carefully spiced pasties with red beans, onions, potato and tomato in a delicious wholemeal pastry.

           Eccles Cakes x 4

Buttery puff pastry rounds filled with currants, mixed spice and candied peel. The golden pastry is then sprinkled generously with crunchy Demerara sugar.

Cinnamon and Raisin Danish x 2

Golden, flaky pastry rings with plump organic raisins and cinnamon swirled through it, and a sugary glaze on top.

Spiced Buns x 4

A wonderful texture with chewy vine fruits, and that warming spicy aroma. Warm them up, spread with butter, and try and wipe the smile off your face!

Carrot Cake 430g

Award winning and filled with fresh carrots, apricots, walnuts, cinnamon and orange. 

All individual items will have ingredients & allergen information on their labels. Allergens include: gluten (wheat, rye, spelt, oats)milk and milk products (cheese, butter)eggnuts* (almonds, walnuts, Hazelnuts, Brazil Nuts)sesame seedssoya (chocolate, soya milk)
