2022 was also the year which saw Her Majesty The Queen become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne on 6 February 1952 when she was just 25 years old.

To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, May Hill residents met as a community to share memories, eat cake and drink tea at the Hub. The Village Hall committee adopted a new flag which was raised by Valerie King and there was a Big Lunch get together on Sunday 5th June.

During the celebrations local residents reminisced about life on May Hill over the last 70 years. These memories were captured in a Dean Radio Forest Voices special which aired on the 5th June 2022.
