All About the May Hill Hub

Back in early 2020, when Covid-19 limited our access to fresh produce, the community responded by creating a delivery round of fresh local produce. As orders flooded in, it soon became apparent that something a little more permanent was needed hence the creation of The May Hill Hub. Post pandemic we are still going strong and need your help so we can continue to serve the community in the very best way that we can.

The Hub is a community initiative which provides a Click and Collect food, drink, arts & crafts service for local and nearby residents. Our aim is to support local businesses and residents in a sustainable and responsible way.

At the heart of the our offering is the chance to support local suppliers and our community, provide a central drop point, cut down on miles to the supermarket and miles from supplier to plate and enjoy the best of local produce, as ethically as possible.

The hub is run as a not-for-profit organisation by residents of May Hill. Our three main goals are to:

  • Sell local produce to support local businesses

  • Support the residents of May Hill and neighbouring villages

  • Operate in a sustainable and environmentally-friendly way

This is what one of our regular customers had to say about the Hub;

“We have been really pleased with all the products that we have bought from the Hub and I know that feedback should be constructive to help further improvements, but to be honest we can't find fault with the service! It ticks all the right boxes for us both in terms of quality and ethics, so thank you very much for all that you do.”

It’s easy to order from our online local village shop. Just place your order and then collect from the Hub. Orders need to be in by midnight Tuesday. Then just mosey on up to May Hill Village Hall on Friday afternoon, between 14:00 and 16:30 to collect your order.

Our ethos is one of creating a Hub for the community which will hopefully evolve to include clubs and meeting points and a cafe on a Friday to coincide with pick up times.

We would love to hear from anyone open to running such a club or workshop and we are always looking our for help and volunteers.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
