End of the Road

To our customers and community: We are closing our doors after 5 fabulous years.

You will be aware that we have been considering the future of May Hill Hub. As previously stated order numbers have been reducing for some time, to the point where the Hub would be unsustainable going forward; we currently have the funds to meet our needs but, with rising costs & a worn-out committee, we feel it’s prudent to make the difficult decision now. We are grateful for the new volunteers who have come forward, but realistically the overall number of volunteers remains insufficient for the continued smooth running ofthe Hub.

As acommunity we can reflect very proudly on our achievements, and the benefits that this weekly social focus has provided. For us, the May Hill Hub was always about community, which is why this decision was so hard; but as one door closes … Rest assured we will be looking at ways to continue our community ‘Hub’ vibe after we’ve finished trading (we really need new people to drive this forward).

Our website went live on 6thOctober 2020 ... the last Hub Friday will be 3rdOctober (‘last orders’ by Tuesday September 30th). Let’s make it a good one! (NB Village Shop will continue trading on Fridays 2-4.30pm until Oct 3rd).

We have all learnt so much over the last 5 years, and had some amazing times, but we couldn’t have done it without our wonderful, loyal customers, volunteers and suppliers – THANK YOU! We urge you to continue to support our fantastic suppliers in their individual businesses.

To celebrate the fabulous achievements of the May Hill Hub, and as a thank you, we will be holding a drinks and nibbles party from 4.30-6pm on the last Hub day (October 3rd) - please come along to share your stories & to reminiscence. Please let us know if you can attend. (RSVP: mayhillvillageshop@gmail.com)

[Oct 3rd a Pop Up Pub evening so, if even if you can’t make it before 6pm, we’ll still be there! PuP bar will be open until 10pm, with a Japanese food option from Mini Taki. Please note there will be noHub Shop at the PuP on 3rd October]

THANK YOU ALL for making this better than we ever believed it could be.

May Hill Hub committee.
