Award Nomination for The May Hill Hub
Exciting News! The May Hill Hub has not only been nominated for Plunkett’s Rural Community Business Awards in the Rural Vision Technology Award category but has also been chosen as one of three finalists for the category!
Chris Kenwright (one of the founding members of the May Hill Hub) is the brains behind this stylish website, and the integration which goes on behind its scenes - linking customer orders with suppliers and, in turn, enabling the volunteers to distribute as efficiently and accurately as possible on a Friday - it’s his award for sure; there is no way we would have got to this point without his selfless expertise.
Finalists have been invited to attend the award ceremony at St Martin in the Fields in London on Thursday 25th November between 4pm and 7pm.
The judges will select their final winner via three criteria, which are:
· Innovation - how innovative was the community business’s efforts?
· Connectivity - how well do you feel the community business’s efforts connected with the community?
· Longevity - do you think the efforts of the community business will have a lasting impact on the community?
The overall winner will win £250 for the community-owned business. All winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on the 25th November - you can even watch live here!
Jane, Margie, Tessa and Caroline will be taking the train to London Town to represent the May Hill Hub committee, volunteers, suppliers, local community and customers .
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the local businesses for trading with us, our loyal customers and especially our volunteers who are the heart of the operation. We could not serve the community as well as we do without you.
If you would like to join the hub as a volunteer or register your interest in trading please get in touch via email at mayhillvillageshop@gmail.com or call 01452 831730. The May Hill Hub is also on Instagram and Facebook.
